Our Mission

Our mission is simple: give Austin families more time and healthier homes through genuinely thorough, honest deep cleaning. We don't rush, we don't cut corners, and we don't hide behind vague promises. Every visit follows the same 200-point checklist, every cleaner is background-checked and trained by us, and every product we bring into your home is non-toxic and biodegradable. When we say "deep clean," we mean the baseboards, the grout lines, the inside of the microwave, and the dust on top of the ceiling fan — the places most companies skip because nobody checks. We check.

Our Story

FixitKey was founded in 2019 by Maria Delgado, a former hotel housekeeping manager who spent a decade learning what a true deep clean looks like — and grew frustrated watching residential cleaning companies charge "deep clean" prices for surface-level work.

She started with one vacuum, a hatchback full of eco-friendly supplies, and a single rule: clean every home like a five-star hotel room inspection is coming. Word spread fast. By 2021 we had a team of twelve and a waitlist. Today, our 30+ trained professionals serve thousands of homes across Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Georgetown, and San Marcos — and that founding rule still hangs in our office: "If you wouldn't pass inspection, you don't leave."

We've stayed deliberately local. No franchises, no call centers, no upsell scripts. When you call (512) 555-0148, you reach our Austin office. When we arrive, it's our own employees — never day labor, never subcontractors.

Cleaning Safety Standards

Safety isn't a page in a binder — it's how we work every day. Every FixitKey team member follows these standards on every job:

• Background checks & identification: all cleaners pass criminal background checks and wear photo ID badges. You'll always know who's in your home.
• Trained chemical handling: every cleaner completes 40+ hours of training, including safe dilution, ventilation requirements, and which products must never be mixed.
• Color-coded microfiber system: separate cloths for bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas prevent cross-contamination between rooms.
• HEPA-filtered equipment: our vacuums use sealed HEPA filtration so fine dust stays captured instead of being blown back into your air.
• Slip and property protection: wet-floor signage during service, corner guards on equipment, and shoe covers or indoor-only shoes in your home.
• Pet and child awareness: we confirm pet locations before starting, keep doors closed, and never leave products unattended around children or animals.

Our Eco-Friendly Commitments

A deep clean shouldn't come at the planet's expense — or your family's health. Here's what we commit to:

• Non-toxic by default: our standard products are plant-based, biodegradable, and free of phosphates, phthalates, and harsh fumes. Safe for kids, pets, and allergy-sensitive households.
• No greenwashing: we list the products we use and their certifications (EPA Safer Choice and similar) — ask us anytime and we'll show you the bottles.
• Refill and reuse program: we buy concentrates in bulk and refill reusable bottles, cutting single-use plastic packaging by over 80% compared to retail spray bottles.
• Microfiber over disposables: washable, reusable microfiber cloths and mop pads instead of single-use wipes wherever hygiene standards allow.
• Water-conscious methods: spray-and-wipe techniques and controlled-damp mopping reduce water waste versus traditional bucket mopping.
• Fragrance-free option: every service can be performed with completely fragrance-free products on request — just note it when booking.
